Burnrate Institute was founded to give manufacturers, architects, and code officials a single, independent source of truth about how materials perform under fire conditions.
We do not manufacture or specify materials. Our only business is testing them accurately and reporting the results without bias.
Methodology First
Every test we run follows published ASTM, UL, or NFPA methodology to the letter. We retain raw instrumentation data for every test, available for audit or third-party review on request.
Our lab team includes fire protection engineers and materials scientists who review results before they leave the building.
